Comments: The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens. This place is beautiful and it is easy to consume two or three hours visiting the varions areas. I especially like the Japanese Gardens which offer a wide variety of subjects for photography the whole year round. The rose and flower gardens follow normal seasons and this year, 2006, the blooms are late in arriving. My roses at home are not as yet in bloom and it appears it will be the middle to late April before the blooms arrive. I would expect the same for Huntington.
The Tea Room for lunch is excellent if a little pricy. Also crowded on most days so I recommend an advance reservation. Tea Room Luncheon ($19.95 plus Tax), Reservations suggested.

Directions: Take the 210 FWY to Pasadena and exit on Allen Ave. Go south on Allen for about two miles and straight into the gate to the Library. There is plenty of free parking and the main entrance is only a short distance from the parking lot.
